I believe in the power of friendship
Since I was a little child my sister was my best friend. I could tell her my deepest thoughts; I could tell her everything that would come out my mind. Therefore, I have complete trust in her. Whenever I felt down she was there to comfort me. That’s why we’re so close. We shared our dreams and visions of life. Everyday, before we fell asleep, we used to talk about things that happened during the day. We used to talk a lot, and I have good memories of it.
Last year I came to the United States to study. It was difficult for me to stay away from her. I thought to myself, “With whom I’m going to talk about like I used to do with my sister?” However, I have found a lot of friends here; since I’ve been here I have had good and interesting experiences with them. They help me not feel lonely and I hope I do the same for them too. Together we had joy, but we passed through difficult situations and together we overcame all the problems because we believe that union makes the strength.
Our friendship is grows stronger little by little, day by day. At this point I consider my friends as part of my family.
I still miss the conversations with my sister but I know that I have my friends here to watch my back. I believe that friends are like a safe port, you can always count on them on rainy or sunny days.
